Entrepreneurship is living a few years of your life like most people won’t so that you can spend the rest of your life like many can’t. ‘Startup India’ is one such scheme or a campaign launched by the Prime Minister Narendra Modi, past Republic Day, i.e., on the 26th day of January 2017, for the better future of the Indian youths in the vast arena of entrepreneurship. The mission of this project is to encourage start-ups, i.e., the youths of India towards entrepreneurship by supporting them through bank financing to create more jobs in India. This event was inaugurated by the Finance Minister, Arun Jaitley. To make this initiative successful, efforts are required to involve the participation of almost all the higher educational institutions through online connectivity. This program is visioned to help India become the world’s start-up capital.
A start-up is an entrepreneurial venture, which is typically a newly emerged, fast-growing business that aims to meet a marketplace need by developing a viable business model around an innovative product, service, process or a platform. Glimpse of this mega event will be visualized on 10 February 2018 in Odisha. The newly established Start Up Cell, VSSUT, Burla, in collaboration with ‘Invest India’ and ‘Start-up India’, is going to host the boot camp of ‘STARTUP YATRA, ODISHA Edition’ at the AVC. This is a flagship initiative of the Government of India, intended to build a strong eco-system for nurturing innovation and start-ups in the nation that will drive sustainable economic growth and generate large scale employment opportunities. The Government, through this initiative, aims to empower start-ups to grow through innovation and design. Innovators and entrepreneurs can pitch their ideas in order to be a part of the start-up movement. All the selected finalists will receive 3 days of intensive mentoring programme from ‘Start-up India’. By the end of the accelerator programme, interested ideas will get incubated at various TBI (TECHNICAL AND BUSINESS INCUBATOR). By hosting this mega event alongside, Samavesh 2018, VSSUT aims to promote grassroot inventors, entrepreneurs to expand their horizons.
Expertise help will be provided in building the prototypes required for the fulfilment of ideas. In order to meet the objectives of the initiative, Government of India announced the ‘Action Plan’ that addresses all aspects of the start-up ecosystem on 26 January 2017. With this ‘Action Plan’, the Government hopes to accelerate spreading of the start-up movement. The ‘Action Plan’ is based on the following three pillars:
- Simplification and Handholding
- Funding Support and Incentives
- Industry-Academia Partnership and Incu.bation
This initiative will provide a new dimension to the entrepreneurs and help new comers in setting up their businesses as well as make a live network of start-ups through the connection. Highly skilled and multi-talented youths of the nation shall be completely benefitted through this campaign and shall be able to generate new jobs.
