Quizzine, the quiz club of VSSUT, Burla organised QUIZZINOXUM 2k18 in the campus on 21 January 2018 in order to bring out the best quizzer from amongst the school kids of various schools in the district. A healthy participation was observed along with an awesome quantity of zeal and wit within these budding artists of wisdom!
Many schools from all over Sambalpur showed up for this event. Quizzine pulled up their socks and had done all the necessary arrangements before the inception of the quiz. Students from Sri Satya Sai School, Vikash Concept School, DAV Burla, Vedic International, Sanskar Kendra, St John and Kendriya Vidyalaya had participated in this event. The registration desk started its formalities from 8:00 am. A total of 100-150 students got themselves enrolled and then paired up to make a team of 2. The junior fraction comprised of students from 6th to 8th standards and had 38 competing teams. 24 teams of students from classes 9th to 12th battled with their wisdom in the senior quiz. This was a great opportunity for the inquisitive and curious souls to showcase their worldly knowledge. Pupils had come with full-blown preparations not just to participate but to win. The clash of knowledge started off with a written round for both the categories of participants. The first round covered various topics from Current Affairs, Science and Technology, Art and Literature to static GK. The written round was followed by a ‘stage quiz’ for the top 6 teams in the senior category. The contest picked up its pace after the end of the prior session. The juniors were awarded based on the written round, but the seniors had to survive more 4 rounds to taste victory. The teams which outshone all others were from Vikash Concept School, Sambalpur and DAV Public School, Burla. The final round was again divided into 2 more ‘General Quiz’ rounds, an ‘Audio-Visual’ round and a final round named as ‘LONG CONNECT’. Every team wanted to be the frontrunner and gave their best to kiss success. The most playful, enjoyable and innovative round was the ‘long connect’ which tested the presence of mind of the aspirants.This nail-chewing competition came to an end, and finally with pride and pleasure, the team from D.A.V Public School, Burla became the star of the show by beating the rest of the teams with a huge margin. They were rewarded with prizes of worth of 10,000 INR.
The students enjoyed the quiz competition a lot as they could ameliorate their cognizance through the queries interrogated. The entire team of Quizzine was complemented and commended by the students and the teachers alike, who all truly enjoyed the QUIZZINOXUM. With more commitment and assurance, Quizzine aims to bring more such events to encourage knowledge sharing and establish a quizzing culture in the city. We congratulate the entire team of Quizzine for organizing this amazing event and wish them all the luck for their future endeavours.
