Adding to the cult of entrepreneurs, E-cell, VSSUT left no stones unturned to organize E-summit, one of the biggest Entrepreneurship Conclaves in the state. Via a series of talks and panel discussions, the event lucidly ignited a vision to delve deeper into the idea of innovation itself, and what a startup needs to flourish in the market.
E-summit took place on the 15th and 16th of February 2020 encompassing six mega-events such as Startup Bootcamp, Leadership Summit, Wings, Fun events- IPL auction & war of hustlers and E-summit’s flagship event Innobuzz. The hackathon was organised by members of the E-Cell, Piyush Mohanty & Shashank Shekhar Tripathy.
Day 1 of the event kick-started at the registration desk, which was struck with a jolt of excitement by the participants of hackathon. Followed by the inauguration ceremony of Leadership Summit which was graced by many renowned speakers such as Annapurna A and Mayank Purohit. Registration for Wings, a capacity development program designed by Startup India for aspiring and budding women entrepreneurs, started soon after. The beginner’s workshop by Wings focused on providing fundamental knowledge on entrepreneurship to all aspiring women entrepreneurs. With an unsettling vision of nurturing potential ideas and turning potential ideas into realities, Startup Bootcamp was spearheaded by the enthusiastic and young like Arijit Bhattacharya. Concurrently, our University witnessed the second edition of national hackathon, InnoBuzz 2.0 set to be the largest in-house hackathon of eastern India. Owing to the theme “Ideate, Iterate and Culminate”, developers, designers and disruptors across the country joined their hands to provide constructive solutions to the pivotal issues pertaining in our society.
The hackathon brought together 40 teams, hustling over 36 hours featured five sectors, namely–Healthcare, Social, Disaster Management & Environment, & Automation, Next Gen & Misc. with 7 problem statements. The problem statements were adopted from Industry Partners & supporting partners that echoed the real-life hurdles and the practical difficulties associated with it, congruent with the goal of the hackathon. It was aimed at identifying pivotal issues pertaining to our society and various domains of organizations.
DAY 2 of the event resumed with a speech by Anubha Maneshwar (Innobuzz) followed by speaker note by Fenil Zaveri (Startup Bootcamp) and other speakers such as Sourav Nanda(Innobuzz) and Ravi Rajan(Startup Bootcamp). The fun events such as IPL Auction and War of Hustlers added vibrant colours to the event, lightening the mood of the attendees. The second half of the day mostly covered judgment sessions and declarations of selected teams of the hackathon based on the prototypes they had prepared followed by Elevator Pitch(Wings) and Prize distribution and closing ceremony.
At the end of the two-day long event, embodying the true sense of “All’s well that ends well” the music club of our University, Souls engrossed the attendees in a soulful mood with their beguiling performances. The hard work and dedication of the students paid off as the event unveiled massive success. Fostering the spirit of budding entrepreneurs, the students brought the event to an end by lighting firecrackers which enthralled the attendees by painting the E-learning centre with all shades of sparkles.
