The Council Of Architecture Visit To VSSUT

The Council of Architecture (COA) has been constituted by the Government of India under the provisions of the Architects Act, 1972, enacted by the Parliament of India, which came into force on 01 September, 1972. The Act provides facilities for the registration of Architects, standards of education, recognized qualifications and standards of practice to be complied with by the practicing architects. The Council of Architecture is charged with the responsibility to regulate the education and practice of profession throughout India besides maintaining the register of architects.

One such Council of Architecture visit took place in VSSUT Burla on the 13th of March 2018. The inspection team consisted of two ladies from Chennai and Nasik. The team reached Burla a night before the inspection. The inspection team was welcomed to the department by the honourable Vice Chancellor, Dean of Faculty and Planning, HOD of Architecture Department and the Dean of Academics Affairs. A brief seminar was given by Dr. BhartIi Mohapatra, HOD, Architecture regarding the college, its location and culture of the place. The seminar touched upon various scopes and opportunities, strengths and challenges of the Department and the University. The team visited each studio of the department and interacted with students and understood the academic rigor.

Upon finishing up with the studio inspection. The team went through various documents and other formalities followed by a staff meeting.  The inspection concluded by 5:00 pm and the team later uploaded their report and conclusion to the Council of Architecture.

First time ever, best in its form, the Council of Architecture nailed every field the students wanted to explore and, indeed, taught to them lessons of passion and priorities. Team ViSSion wishes the Department of Architecture all the best of very good luck in all senses of towering, roaring and prosperous progression in the spheres of crafts and designs…
